Do not crush the daisy!

We live in a world filled with negative signs. These signs do not nurture us or keep us safe, they seek to control and carry a strong emotional message that tells the viewer they are not wanted or not free to express themselves. These signs act like injunctions and stab at us as we go about our day.

The viewer feels squashed and restricted and consequently each sign makes us a little less who we really are. 

The street photographs of these negative signs are printed onto a large daisy and exhibited in a 3 x 3 grid. This series have been exhibited at University of Portsmouth and Art Space in Portsmouth.

The daisy represents a recurring childhood nightmare of daisies being crushed. Do not crush the daisy!
